Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust – having a firm, fixed, faithful reliance on/in the integrity, ability or personality of someone, namely God.
Depend on, Confidence in, Hope upon
I. God’s Counsel To Trust
1. To advise, admonish, advocate, suggest, direct, guide
- God promised security(to be free from doubt, despair, danger or defeat; to not slip, slide or be shaken – Psalm 125:1,2 stability/security
- God promised serenity(to be free from worrying, wavering, wondering; from distress, being depressed, disturbed, distracted – Isaiah 26:3,4
- God promised sanity(to be safe, sound, satisfied, rational, reasonable, realistic in the mind – Psalm 2:12, 34:8, Proverbs 16:20, Jeremiah 17:7
II. God’s Criteria To Trust
1. Must Completely Consider
- Content w/ Instruction
- Consent to Intelligence
- Care for Ideas
- Comfortable in Intentions
- Courage about Imaginations
2. Must not Consent to Compromise
- Not rest upon your own intentions
- Not rely upon your own interpretation
- Not relax in your own intelligence
3. Conduct Must be Conformed
- To His purpose/will
- To His plans/works
- To His pleasure/ways
III. God’s Consequence From Trust
1. Make Pleasant/Remove Your Obstacles
2. Make Prosperous/Make Smooth Your Opposition
3. Make Pleasing/Cause You To Cruise To New Opportunities
